I currently offer individual psychotherapy services for adults living in Tennessee and Illinois. I have experience working with a wide variety of mental health concerns. Below are some of my particular areas of specialty. I also have specialized training and experience working with women and LGBTQ+ clients. Please contact me if you have questions.
Grief is a natural response to loss, yet it can feel overwhelming and isolating. It can arise for many reasons. Sometimes even a positive event can evoke grief. Whether you're mourning the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a significant life change, the process of grieving is complex and personal. Grief is not something that can be "fixed," but it is something that can be understood, honored, and integrated.
Healthy anxiety comes and goes, helping us engage with life—but when it lingers, it may be time to seek support. Similarly, there are times when we may feel sad or low. But, when feelings of sadness or exhaustion persist and begin to overshadow daily life, they may signal depression, which deserves care and attention.
Trauma can deeply impact how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. Whether you're dealing with the aftermath of a single event or chronic experiences over time, we will work at your pace to help you feel safer in your body and mind, develop new ways of coping, and gradually reclaim a sense of hope and possibility.
lllness, whether chronic, terminal, or acute, can shake our sense of self and challenge our emotional and psychological well-being. It goes beyond the physical—affecting our relationships, our sense of control, and our ability to find meaning in daily life. It’s normal to feel fear, uncertainty, and even anger. Therapy can help you process these emotions, adjust to new realities, and find ways to live life fully.
Facing death—whether your own or that of a loved one—brings profound emotional, spiritual, and practical challenges and can stir deep questions about meaning, legacy, and what matters most. You may experience a complex mix of emotions: anticipatory grief, fear, anger, or a desire to make the most of remaining time. I can help you navigate medical decisions, have meaningful conversations with loved ones, and honor this difficult and sacred time. Together, we'll create space to address both practical concerns and emotional needs, helping you find moments of peace and connection.
Caregiving—whether as a professional or for a family member or friend—can be both deeply rewarding and emotionally exhausting. Caregivers often find themselves balancing the needs of others with their own, which can lead to stress, burnout, and feelings of isolation. We will explore ways to help you care for both yourself and those you serve, helping you build resilience, maintain balance, and practice self-compassion in this vital role.
Life transitions—whether wanted or unwanted—can bring up a range of emotions, from excitement and possibility to worry and fear. Whether navigating a career change, moving to a new city, entering a new stage of life, or facing the loss of something familiar, transitions often force us to reassess who we are and what we want from life. This process can feel overwhelming, but it also offers an opportunity for growth and self-understanding.
These concerns can encompass questions about the meaning of life, our purpose, or how to navigate suffering and pain. Some people draw on a particular spiritual path or religious tradition to help them answer these questions, while others look to art, music, literature, nature, or their life experience. My approach is open, curious, and non-prescriptive. I have experience working with people of all different spiritual traditions as well as those who are not religious. I can also help with the integration of psychedelic experiences and other altered states of consciousness.
